Canalda’s rock and coves dels moros (caves)

The Coves dels Moros (the moors caves) are located on the north–western side of the small village of Canalda, at the cliffs known as Roca de Canalda (Canalda’s rock). To access it we have to follow the road to Coll de Jou and then take the road to Cambrils for about 5 km, leave the car and continue on foot along a track on the right that will take us just below the cliffs which leads to a house built into the rock, called ca la Rita (Rita’s house), which has been inhabited in the past.

It seems that these caves were the last homes of some Arabians who had conquered the Solsonès area.
