Castle and walled town of Sant Climenç
The current walled town of Sant Climenç has its origins in the castle and fortified town dating back to around the 12th-13th centuries when it passed from the domain of the lords of Pinell to those of Cardona.
Towards the end of the 16th century, the Cardona family transformed the castle into a stately home. In fact, behind the castle and forming a walled town with a single entrance gate, there are a series of dwellings, which make up a fairly well-preserved medieval complex.
The enclosed village of Sant Climenç has the peculiarity of being the only one that exists in the municipality of Pinell since, being a municipality with scattered centers, it does not have an urban center, therefore, the center of Sant Climenç would act as the “capital” of the municipality.
