The Solsona Museum, treasures of history
The Solsona Diocesan and District Museum dates back to 1896, when Bishop Riu i Cabanes, with the desire to safeguard and disseminate heritage of the Bishopric, opened the Musaeum Archaeologicum Dioecesanum in Solsona, making it one of the earliest diocesan museums in Catalonia.
It contains collections from the multidisciplinary historic and artístic heritage of the districts comprising the Bishopric of Solsona, from the Neolithic period to the 20th century.
